Carlos Delgado hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI at the ballpark where the Caracas
Leones beat the Detroit Iron Gloves 3 to 2.

Detroit never recovered after Caracas took the lead in the bottom of the 7th
inning plating an isolated run utilizing 2 base hits. Detroit had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.

Steve Reed(2-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Tim
Harikkala was credited with his 5th save. Doug Davis(5-2) was charged with
the loss.

Alan Dyche was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we
could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
